The scientific collections consist of about 900 mammalian, 3,300 bird, 1,000 reptile and amphibian, 3,000 insect and 24,000 mollusk species.

Among the most important parts of our collections are the fruit fly collection (list of pinned Drosophilidae) and the Mousson collection, included within the mollusk collection (list of specimens), both containing many types of specimens.
